Noxious Weeds
The Greenbelt Management Committee (GMC) is responsible for eradicating noxious weeds in our Greenbelts, and hope to be a resource to increase property owner awareness of invasive weeds that threaten our community ecosystem. One of the most recognizable weeds is Scotch thistle (above), which can produce up to 14,000 seeds per plant. We encourage fellow property owners to familiarize themselves with these weeds and work toward eradication on their properties. Early in the season, while the ground is still moist, many of these weeds can be pulled out by the root. For help in identifying weeds, try the "Picture This" App at https://www.picturethisai.com/. Hint: The App can be used for free, but be careful to not activate the 7-day trial that results in a charge at the end of 7 days. |
